Philharmonia Virtuosi, among all American orchestras, offered a unique ongoing exploration of Sibelius’ works composed in conjunction with dramatic works for the stage. These diverse works conveyed to their audiences a deepened sense of mystery and event. Most of all, Sibelius’ music is almost unspeakably beautiful and affecting.
